Girls Football

Football Brisbane Divisional

UQFC has a strong tradition of girls playing football with over 200 girls participating in teams . UQFC has the highest representation of female players of any club in Queensland.

UQFC also offers a pathway for girls to compete in U12 to U16 division one football administered by Football Brisbane (FB) in addition to girls only & mixed teams at MiniRoos (U6-U11) level.

UQFC has a pathway for our junior girls to transition into senior football after U16.

When do we play and train?

Girls football is played either on Friday evenings, Saturdays or Sundays depending on the age group and zonal scheduling, with a home and away ground format. Training is held midweek evenings.

How are teams selected?

UQFC will announce trial dates traditionally in September or January/February pre-season for the various age groups and levels, with an experienced coaching staff selecting squads for the subsequent season

What kit do I need?

All players must wear football boots (plastic tags) and shin guards. The club will provide team shirts for matches. A training kit and playing shorts are available for purchase upon registration.

Who coaches girls football?

Girl’s teams have FFA certified coaches in addition to dedicated volunteer coaches with UQFC developing these coaches through coaching courses or financially supporting attendance at coaching courses run by Football Queensland (FQ)
